Good Answer Count is Not Moving

03/18/2013 7:45 AM

Did anyone notice if there is any movement on his GA account?

Mine is not moving at all. I do understand that GA posted anonymously will not show up in my profile, but lately I have been trying to post as myself to get my numbers up.

But it is not working.

Admin, what is going on?

If I have a GA I want it to show up in my profile! PLEASE!

I don't understand. You've got 6 GAs, which also show up in your profile. You can't boost your GA count by posting as yourself. You actually have to post answers that other members think are worthy of a GA, and vote them in.

You can always do what Lyn did, and get some family members to register and give you GAs.

Just kidding.

By posting as himself, I think IdeaSmith means that he posts under his name and not using the Anonymous feature. Then other people can rate his comments as GAs. If you post as Anonymous, GA ratings are not applied to your profile.

Oh. I've never posted anonymously; although, there are probably hundreds of times that I should have.

In order for a comment to count as a good answer in your tally, it must have +2 GA votes. All of your recent comments with votes have just 1 GA vote each. In this case they will show up as "almost" GAs in the thread but will not display on your profile.

That's correct. You must have at least +2 GA in order for it to be counted.

And a comment rated as a Good Answer may not stay that way forever. If you have +2 GA and someone gives you a vote of -1 OT (off-topic) then your tally for that comment goes down to +1 GA, and it'll no longer count.
