Can Ozone Reactivate Carbon in Clothing

03/20/2013 4:50 PM

By using a Ozone Generator portable unit, will that clean Activated Carbon that is used in Hunting Suits? Usually is takes high heat from the dryer to Re-Activate it but will a small unit with the output of .05ppm do any good?

My understanding of the reactivation process is that the heat causes the abosorbed matter to be vapourised and released from the pores in the carbon.

While an ozone Generator ( I presume you are refering to a negative ion generator) can help clean air I dont belive it would have sufficient force to extract the matter from the pores of the activated carbon.

What about simple particular matter, such as the matter that would cause human odor? When using heat the reactivation only is accomplished to a 30-40% window, by adding the Ozone generator would that then not help by killing the matter which would then be easier removed by the heat? We are not trying to eliminate the use of heat but are trying to prove that by using the Ozone generator in conjunction that you reactivation would likely increase. Thank you for your timely response. I look forward to any other response that you might offer.
