HVAC Butchers

A HVAC Butcher designed, selected and placed order for a chilled water AHU for 100% Fresh air applications of Operation Theaters and ICUs of a Trauma care center with ambient at 52 Deg C, 2 row deep chilled water coil with leaving air temperature at 32 Deg C DB and 32.5 Deg C WB to maintain an inside condition of 23 Deg DB with 50% RH by consultant. The submittal was approved by the consultant, client and the world's 1st AC manufacturer send fax informing that the equipments will be des patched in 2 days and requested to arrange crane etc for unloading and safekeeping of them till installations. Since the equipments were to be installed in the roof of 4th floor, the consultant requested the foundation drawing with load of the each AHUs. At this time the HVAC Butcher who has designed, selected and ordered these AHUs went on vacation and the writer was asked by the company to handle the project till he returns from vacations. When the writer made a single line sketch with parallel RCC slab of 300 mm x X mm long x 150 mm high according to the each AHU indicating its operational weights as per the approved submittal of the manufacturer and requested the drafts man to make the drawing for submittal. But the draftsman came back telling there is no mention of the weight of the AHUs in the approved submittal. When the writer checked it and noticed the weight column has left blank. On through scrutinize of the submittal notice that air leaving the coil at 32 Deg C DB with 2 ROW deep coil and shocked. When the matter was brought to the boss of the company who asked to fax the OEM to stop des patch of the AHUs till further advice. When the HVAC Butcher came back and questioned, the OEM said that they have quoted and supplied according to HVAC Butcher request. However they admitted the mistake and offered a 8 ROW deep coil in place of 2 ROW deep coil to give an air leaving temperature of 12 Deg DB with 8 Deg C dehumidified temperature raise, the inside conditions will be maintained at 20 Deg C DB which can be adjusted above as required by end user. However they claimed additional cost for extra row deep copper coil which was justified by the writer and the equipments re manufactured accordingly. The job was completed successfully with above modifications but the HVAC Butcher claims that it is nothing serious a design fault and he is responsible for the success of the project. No amount of writer's explanation to make him understand the blender he did and how seriously the project would have been screwed up but for the writer is not going into his ear. How the readers see this problem and his arguments?
