ABB ACS800 Drive Operate from LCS

03/21/2013 8:41 AM

http://www05.abb.com/global/scot/scot239.nsf/veritydisplay/411ac81f6a476367852574630063b4d2/$file/acs800-phtc01u-en.pdf

In the above doc, page no.40 denotes the ABB Drive ACS800 Firmware control circuit diagram.

According to figure X21,port no 9,10 connect with a Digital meter which shows rpm.But when i connect a digital meter it does not shows rpm . it shows a value which does not change.

actually i want to run the drive from local control station,i.e;start/stop/rpm feed back from control desk (start/stop-X22,port 1,2)

please tell me which parameter i have to set to operate it.

What your link shows is generic information from a catalog, the actual I/O configuration of you drive may be different.

In the rare event that your drive coincides with the I/O interface shown there, then you have to make sure that the input impedance of your meter is at least 700 ohms and that it is of the type 4-20mA.

Get the manual, only there you will find the configuration parameters necesary for the operating options.

Is this a case of a mismatch between output and meter? Is the output 4-20mA and the meter is set to DC volts instead of DC amps, perhaps?

You need to look in the Firmware manual.

The analog outputs are programmed with P 15.01 through 15.12

P 15.01 would be set to speed

The factory default should be "speed",

Analog output 2 should have a default of "current"

Check these and see what you actually have.

Verify you do have a 0-20ma or 4-20ma meter. If you have a voltmeter, it will pin to max with a 4ma signal.

If you have a voltmeter movement, then add a burden resistor in parallel- 250 ohm will give you 5 volts with 20ma
