Measuring Length of Strip

I have the occasional need to measure lengths of braze material from a roll, probably several metres at a time. I'm sure I've seen devices where you pull the strip over a roller which measures the length, like a miniature surveyors wheel, but can't find this on-line. I expect I'm not using the right search terms. The braze material is a silver/copper alloy & is quite soft so the roller pressure must be light to avoid marking. As this would not be used often I don't want to spend a lot either, can anyone point me in the right direction?
