We need battery discharged test Load bank for our UPS battery (UPS capacity 500kVA)voltage bank 415V, please if anybody know or having experience with good load bank RECOMENDED. our company interested to buy.
Your UPS should have come from the manufacturer with testing procedures for load banks, if applicable or even suggested.
Some UPS' get very angry when they are run down on a load bank...the batteries tend to get a little testy...or toasty. Another factor to consider is how long you really want the UPS to last. If you put a real-world load on the UPS it may drain in 10 to 15 minutes. If you put a light load on it would take longer. It all depends on how much you want to stress the battery bank or if you just want to test the dependability of the automatic switching. You have to decide what your goal is.
A simple inductive load bank (real world) used in conjuction with a resistive load bank is one way of doing it. I use a purely resistive load bank which is actually designed for our generator system, but we only test the UPS with that load bank once...upon initial install with company representatives on-site to monitor performance for the warranty.
We ran the old ones into the ground just for fun before we pulled them out. What a stink that made! All of the wiring was to be completely replaced anyway.
