How to Use 0 - 20mA Drive on a 4-20mA System

03/28/2013 7:30 AM

i have a siemens micromaster drive in our plant which has an analogue input control of 0-20mA but the existing analogue control on the plant is a 4-20mA. without changing the existing control signal of 4-20mA, how do i use the 0-20mA drive on an analogue input control of 4-20mA.

Will appreciate greatly if i can be assisted.

Suggest one of these or similar:-

ASC230 - Signal Converter / Transmitter

Also check the drive manual and application notes (check the Siemens website) to see if it can be reconfigured or programmed to accept a 4-20mA input.

If it can it is much cheaper than buying the necessary signal converter.
