Push On / Push off Catch Identification

04/08/2013 11:56 PM

Hi all,

I am refurbishing a piece of equipment which uses a series of small push to release "buttons" to allow the removal of various sections.

The buttons are all broken and require replacementbut I am having a cow of a time trying to find even what they may be called let alone a supplier. Any clues or suggestions as to what these may be called would be of great assistance.

The "buttons" are spring loaded and have a small cam style arangement that latches when the button is pressed and then unlatches when pressed again. Like a push on push off switch.

The button section is 25mm long and approx 6mm in diameter. The recepitcal is 24mm long and approx 10mm in diameter.

In the below image the button section is broken and missing its retaining colar that stops it pulling through the surface to be latched.

The receptical section is threaded on the outside to allow it to be attached to the base of the device.

Your collective esteemed wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

Bernie

You might try Dzus Fasteners. They make multitudes of quick release fasteners. That might not be the right pew, but at least it will get you into the right church in your search.
