This article from ThomasNet describes materials that are currently being researched that would "take shape" and create a new form after it has been printed. Is this necessarily 4D? Probably not, but I'll let you quantum fanatics figure that out.

In any case, it'd be interesting to buy something small, take it out of the package, then let it form a couch right before your very eyes!

Especisally if it was a potato!

I think we already have that tech. It's called a wife. They start out in a small neat little package and then right before our eyes they form into a couch sized potato!
