Refrigeration/AC Components

05/30/2007 9:52 AM

Can anyone suggest a supplier of very small AC&R components? I am designing a very small, shoe-box sized AC unit, using off-the-shelf components, but cannot seem to locate a supplier or even a manufacturer of the rather tiny components needed. The target specification is 200cfm at 10 to 30 celcius degrees sub-ambient.

You are looking at about a 1/3 to 1/2 ton unit (4000 to 6000 btuh). The size of a small window AC unit.

Have you thought about using a Thermoelectric cooler using the peltier effect? These will cool small areas using DC voltage and no moving parts. Just Google Peltier.

I am familiar with Peltier devices, however, for a multitude of reasons, this unit needs to be an evaporative unit.

Actually, the thing will be somewhat bigger than a shoe box. I am looking at something on the order of 8" x 8" x 18" +/- a couple of inches. And yes, I'd like to get both sides of the unit inside the same case.
