Hello,

We are looking for a company realising resistant thin coating (+/-5microns) to be applied on steel wires.

Thank you for replying if you have any solution or advise.

Best regards,

Xavier:

You may look to PVD, Physical Vapor Deposition, CVD or Plasma assisted deposition as a process to provide a high rate low temperature, ( assuming heat treat is important)

I dont know of any companies that are doing these processes in line at high rates but a search of the net could lead you to an interested party. GENERAL MAGNAPLATE comes to mind. It should be possible to find a suitable coating for corrosion protection, wear or from the list of possibles.. TiN, TiC, TaC , CrN CrCN, etc etc.

Try K-Tech Ceramic Coatings www.ktech-ceramics.com or contact me for more information on them.

They have a process for thin coating steel wires that is very effective.
