Specific Weight in ISA S750.1 for Control Valve Sizing

05/01/2013 2:20 AM

Sir, In ISA S75.01, for calculating Cv for liquid for mass flow rate, Specific Weight is required but unit of Specific Weight is required in kg/m3 but Specific Weight unit is N/m3. Kg/m3 is the unit of density so please tell me whether I should put value of density or I should multiply the densit with 9.8. Please advise.

Try a simple "test case" with water as the fluid. The density of water is well-known, and the result should be easy to check because Cv is defined as the flow rate (in gallons per minute or water) at a constant pressure drop of 1 PSI.

Sir, can you just provide me if possible your mail id so that i can ask queries directly to you.

i assure you i will not bother you frequently.
