First you need to learn to search for answers to these simple questions, yourself.

"Visual basic for beginners" would be a good search topic.

I got 6,210,000 results when I typed those words into a search engine.

Perhaps.

Tell me, do you think you did this person a service by doing his simple legwork for him?

CR4er's and Admin:

I have done some homework and below are a few (of the thousands) of examples of the replies that LYN likes to post to forum user's questions. I am greatly concerned that this person has hijacked this site for his own amusement and degradation of fellow forum users. If anyone agrees, please post your concerns.

Example 1) 05/02/2013:

I suggest that you start by looking at the last topic that I found by searching, just as you could have done!

How Does a Generator Create Electricity? How Generators Work

How do Generators work? - Universe Today

How Do Generators Work? | eHow.com

Discovery Kids :: Tell Me - How does a generator work?

Finally, your questions sound more like homework questions, rather than questions someone with at least some education or experience in the field would ask.

Perhaps you should search for, and enroll in, some course work on the subject, you need it.

Example 2) 05/02/2013:

You're completly helpless hopeless.

Do your own homework!!!

Example 3) 07/17/2011

It is obvious that you are not writing anything, text or otherwise.

You want someone else to do your research for you. I'd suggest that you ask your mother to do it.

Here is an appropriate web site for you: Losers Anonymous -

Check back with us next year.

Example 4) 01/12/2012

Maybe I should have added DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK.

Example 5) 03/21/2011

Perhaps it was my expert use of subtle innuendo to thrust and parry my way through the unsuspecting OP and take him off at the knees.

When you're hot, you're hot!

I see that LYN has over 20K posts and 780 good answers. Although I am sure the forum users have benefited from LYN's comments and posts, it seems that LYN's time has come and his posts/account should be removed/cancelled. If CR4er's could comment that would be appreciated.

I am sure LYN will deflect responsibility for his posts as most Americans do and call me an idiot, unintelligent, LOSER as he has called so many posters before. If LYN holds himself in such high regard, then own up to your rude behaviour and either leave CR4 or apologize.

If you are that intelligent then the simple and smart thing to do is not answer these posts that you find that insult your intelligence. Hmmm. Something to think about before you shoot your mouth off.

Thank you.

I accept your remarks as accurate and will consider myself duly chastised.

I sometimes let my personal opinions of first time, and repeat posters, cloud my judgment and will curb my remarks and try to keep them more professional in the future.

Thank you for pointing out my obvious faults, and I will endeavour to act more professionally in the future.

Hi Sakthi,

What I did was to start recording macros and then editing them for simple tasks.

But soon need arises to ask VBA perform logical selections and many more things. Here you need to start with a good book. I use John Walkenbach's power programming. I am now in the process of launching an application for Exim management and give credit to this book for guiding me at every stage.

I will also tell you my personal story. As a science graduate when I started my life in finance, I did not know that in an annual balance sheet the liability and asset side totals must match. I thought the balance sheet must be having a bug that how come both sides have the same total?

All great things start with seemingly stupid questions. Have a heart to ask even any silly question.

Regards,

Mahess

When you search Amazon for a book : Visual basic for dummies, you come up with more than 10 different version. Take your pick, that is most suitable.

Microsoft probably provides a number of free on-line resources. They likely won't be as beginner-oriented as a book you buy but should be comprehensive. Look for "microsoft.com" in your search results.
