Well it doesn't corrode and contaminate the air supply due to moisture for one, and it looks all nice and sparkley for another (although this is a matter of aesthetics).

Don't have anything to add, except, I'd use polyethylene tubing if it was my project.

  • Because it says so in the facility's Instrumentation Standards Manual?
  • It doesn't melt like plastics do when exposed to high temperatures?
  • It is more resistant to hydrogen chloride vapours than nylon?
  • It doesn't dull over time like copper?
  • It gives the tubing installer a sense of pride in a job well done?
  • It makes sure that the budget is spent and there's nothing embarrassing left over at the end of the financial year?
  • It has a significant scrap value at the end of the plant's economic life?

Is there a prize for getting it right?

At no point in this or any of your other threads on CR4 have you mentioned this was for the oil and gas industry.

We cannot read minds you know. If you don't provide all the relevant information how are we supposed to help you.

Jack - Actually works in the oil and gas industry.
