	Dear Sir, I am using Avast Antivirus free home user on my office PC but now our network administrator blocked this web site on our server they are saying you can use ESET NODE antivirus but I am happy with avast antivirus. 	Try using a proxy service like "hide my ass" or similar to get around it. or you could bring the updates to work from home using a USB stick. Or appeal to your up line manager to override the IT admin. and obtain a paid for avast commercial use license. 	I would advise against any type of anonymizer or proxy sites...it is probably against policy and would result in demotion or release, i.e., get you fired. Is this a work computer? If so, then your LAN Admin should be in charge of your AV solution. If this is a private computer you use at work but connect to a workplace LAN, you can download the definitions and install them manually every week or so. It's a PITA, but it can be done. If this is the company's computer I am surprised they let you install private software at all. You said you had the free home version installed at work? Weird.

	Microsoft allow you to install MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) on up to 10 PC's in a commercial environment and it is free! __________________ treaney

	Your network administrator is probably reasoning that while Avast is free for home use it is charged for office use. To have this software on an office computer without a licence would put the company in breach of Avasts intellectual property rights and enable them to sue the company or you or him. Network administrators get a lot of flak for doing their job conscientiously, but the company employs him to do that job, he is in the right, let him do his job.
