Ever wonder what happens to returned plastic bottles?

So you've cleaned up your house and amassed a sizable collection of plastic returnable bottles. You take them to the recycling center (in participating states) and get your $.05 or $.10. Chances are you spend that change on your groceries, but what happens to the bottle? Well, the Christian Science Monitor is happy to fill you in. Enjoy.

Here I thought they were just made into more cans and bottles. Nice to know that the materials are being used for more civil applications.
