Vamp 40 Motor Protection Relay

06/06/2013 11:41 AM

Kindly let me know if a Vamp 40, 3.3 kV motor protection relay has the feature for high/low pressure or high/low water level protection for a pump?

Would we require any other relays in order to have the above protection?

Thank you

And Maybe...

The Vamp has the ability to monitor kW. If you can establish a direct correlation to motor shaft kW and pipe pressure and/or water column head pressure (which would relate to tank height), then it could be done. But trying to calculate all of that in advance will be like trying to shoot out the eye of an eagle in a rain storm from a moving airplane after 10PM. Theoretically possible, but not probable. A better plan would be to collect empirical data and use it to create an algorithm.

Or just go buy some sensors...

Hire an engineer that knows what they are doing.

By asking the question you clearly don't.
