Ask an acrylics supplier. U.S.Plastics, Ryan Herco, Harrington to name a few.

Sounds like homework question and not one of a user, processor.

Has poor wear resistance. Otherwise cheap and easy to fabricate.

Advantages:

Much more rewarding. Smells better when sawing. Doesn't split/chip/crack when drilled. Doesn't split when screws and nails are installed. Smells better when sawing drilling and sanding. Is UV resistant. Floats, and is visible in water. Readily available in standard sizes, and in larger bulk, cut to size quantities (commonly called trees).

Disadvantages:

Can't be solvent bonded. Isn't transparent. Is softer. Burns more readily. Disappears in water, and barely floats. Termites love it.

To the OP: take a course in materials, or use Matweb for the "student" questions.

Give me wood any day. You might add: Can be burned as fuel when you are tired of it.

Mind you, acrylic polymers are quite useful as the fuel in hybrid rocket motors, but not everyone has that need.

My father was a carpenter. I can still recognize the smell of freshly sawn lumber. Pine has the most distinctive odor.

My wife has wooden bowls and carved wooden works of art.

Advantages:

Higher transparency than polycarbonate.

Cheap.

Easy to create invisible bonds with the correct adhesive.

Disadvantages:

Brakes off in very sharp and dangerous pieces.

It easily cracks while sawing and drilling.

Not a trend anymore among the consumer product designers.

It depends on the products you want to use them in, which are........?

Acrylic is not a good plastic for a number of reasons which is why I would never use it for consumer products given the numerous superior alternatives available.

I would and have used it to make ash trays at school due to its ease of machining and forming different shapes at relatively low temperatures.

Have you tried a Wikipedia or internet search?

For what?

An ash tray, a laptop, a car accessory, a cat litter box, a child's chew toy?

Please provide more information on what consumer products you are talking about and what parts you want to build out of Acrylic.

Then don't use acrylic, it is as simple as that.

Use another plastic, PVC for example.

Detailed links to advantages and disadvantages have been covered already.

Injection molded, or sheet stock cut and glued? Why see-through?

Impact-resistant moulded polystyrene scores higher.

And it's easier to process, if memory serves. Still solvent bondable, too.

Think OP's left us.

It's time to say, do your own work.

We aren't very good at reading minds, nor working on other people's projects.
