Transformer Vector Group

07/07/2013 5:24 AM

Good day

I need some help. I have come across and Utility transformer with an vector group of 32Yd1 that is installed in their yard. The rest of the Transformers are Yd1.

I understand the Yd1 vector but how do I figure out the 32Yd1. Cam I connect the two transformer in parallel or not what will the phase shift be of the 32Yd1

Thanks

I designed and applied transformers for many years. I have never heard of the 32yd1. The transformer manufacturer is required to put a vector diagram on the nameplate to meet standards. If he does not, go back to the manufacturer and instist that they supply you with a vector diagram or explain the 32yd1 to you. It is not a standard nomenclature.

Got the explanation last night. It was an BS standard in the 1930s. It still in one of the old BS standards. Got hold of the document. They called an Yd1 that, Dy1 was called 36Dy1. Will read the rest today and let you know.

The 32 means actually nothing, the phase shift stays 30 deg.

Thanks for the replay.
