You question demonstrates a total lack of understanding of basic electrical principals. Any answer we provide would therefore be meaningless.

Yes, but I was typing that from an iPad, the "keyboard" sucks on that thing.

From your previous post

"I am M.C.Murugesan finished B.E EEE and I am already having 1 year experience in commissioning of wind turbine."

there appears to be some language / translation misunderstanding here

Could you explain what a geyser is as I have never heard of one requiring 230V?

Yeah, I don't think these need electricity:

People in other countries use the term "geyser" to mean an instantaneous hot water heater.

The idiocy of the posting was not the geyser part, I got that. The problem is that he is asking for watts consumption based solely on voltage. It's like saying "How many gallons of gas does it take for me to go 60 MPH?"

Or better yet, let's plug in a number.

How many watts are consumed by a 2kW heater at 240V, vs a 2kW heater at 1.1kV?

If someone with an "EE degree" asks a question like that, I'd have to charge the educational institution with fraud.

i suspect you have a 1100W, 230V, 50Hz water heater with you. If so then the power drawn will be a maximum of 1.1kW.

if it is kept ON continuously for one full hour and the thermostat does not cut off supply then it will consume 1.1 Units (1.1kWh) of energy.

please go to the device in your possession and transcribe faithfully whatever is inscribed on the name plate or rating plate. we will give you a better answer then.

Dear Mr.murugesanmc,

Your statement is NOT technically clear. 1100 Volts appear to be misleading with 230 Volts. 1100 should be WATTS. If so, it will draw a current of 4.78 Amps.

PL.clarify.

He did not ask about energy (kWh), he asked about power, as in watts. So the idiotic question now is, how many watts are in 1100 watts?

JRaef - these are some of the peculiarities of the English Language as used by many Indians - they tend to think in the vernacular and translate while expressing - it is common to consider energy as power in common non technical parlance in India - i suppose similar confusion happens elsewhere too.
therefore while responding it helps to keep a big picture in mind and take things in context.
doing somebody's homework is an entirely different thing however.

Enough with the guesses I think, murugesanmc can you please clarify your original question?
