Gas Cooker Working Principle

07/26/2013 1:25 PM

Hi

A Gas in one of our sites when fired stops after the Knob is released. This started yesterday after some body opened the cooker for replacement of electric cooker plate. The cooker has four gas plates, two electric plates and oven. Kindly assist to reveal the cause of the problem.

Regards

Thermocouple damaged or Knocked out of position of the pilot flame. Wire lead to it knocked off.

Perhaps it's related to the work done yesterday?

Ask the workmen to come back and repair the knob.

Sounds like the pilot flame is not making good contact with the thermocouple....I would check this first....the flame must engulf the thermocouple to generate the 30 millivolts or so, to open the gas valve.....this is a safety feature that keeps the gas from being turned on with no flame to burn it....
