Are you a programmer or did it show up on the PC you are using, if the first then the error is not caught by the error handling software, if it is the second, see the previous message.

Hi EPKE,

this showed up more or less out of the blue. I am not, unfortunately, a programmer. I have trouble trying to program a cirarette lighter.

I'll have to look deeper.

Thank you for your time.

What happens after the message? Which program was running and which is not runing anymore? Is the system responding still or do you have to start new?

Did you update your Virus scanner? Safety updates all there?

For me this looks like malicous software that is not working properly. BlockMem sounds like a memory blocker that is started with a spiked Windows media player file (MPEG).

I stronlgy suggest to step back to an earlier restore point and update the sytem and virus scanner and see if the problem is still there.

Hi IDEASMITH,

This usually crops up at boot time. When everything is running it pops up. It seems to have no effect on any program that I run, in fact it is purely a nuisance without causing any further problems. I am using a good antivirus program and have run a thorough scan of all the installed drives without anything untoward being reported. Yes, I also thought the idea of restoring to an earlier time, this was useless as there were no earlier areas set. I thought Windows (7) set such things automatically, but.....

Thanks for your input, much appreciated.

Ok, only because the virus scan does not pop up with a virus does not make it virus or problem free! In fact a wise man told me once that a good programmed virus will not be noticable by the user.

Of course MS is the biggest virus (defined as program that causes problems) but I would still check autostart programs and the usual folders and directories for anomalies.

Have you tried to start in safe mode and all this crap?

Did you update the Windows player. This is not included in the necessary updates and might have to be done by hand.

Sounds like you need to run your registry repair tool....

Hi to both Eagle and Idea Smith. Thank you for your input to this problem, I will check for any updates to Windows Player, I will then go into the most dangerous place in my computer, the registry, and see what I can find there. If I finally succeed I will advise my findings here. Thanks again.

hi there, you'll find this ms tool quite helpful for registry issues. in all programs from the start menu select Accessories the right click on Commandline and select run as admin. type w/o quotes "sfc /scannow and then press enter. this integral registry correction tool may take some time. when its done it'll say so and may prompt/advise further. cheers

I finally cured the problem by deleting everything related to Visual Studio. No further problems in the last month. Took a while to find, however.

Thank you to all who replied to this problem.

Assume that you have Microsoft SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 Service Pack 2 (SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2) installed on the computer. When you try to create or open a SQL Server Compact 3.5 SP2 database file (.sdf file) on a shared network folder, you receive the following error message:

Error: Internal error. Cannot open shared memory.

  • Additionally, an exception that resembles the following is generated:
  • Exception type: System.Data.SqlServerCe.SqlCeException

  • Source=SQL Server Compact ADO.NET Data Provider
  • HResult=-2147467259
  • NativeError=25118
  • Resolution
