Problems Posting

08/23/2013 9:16 AM

The last couple of times I've tried to reply in another thread, after reviewing my comments, I click the "post in discussion" button, and I get the following error message:

Could not process form: The system was unable to process this form.

Last time it happened, I think I just hit the back button, and kept retrying to post, and eventually it finally worked. Today, I copied my post, and pasted it into another browser session running in Firefox, and the post went right through. My default browswer is IE8, that's the one I'm having problems with. Anyone else getting that message?

It's not just you! This is a known issue. You can learn more about it here: http://cr4.globalspec.com/blogentry/23202/Having-Trouble-Posting-About-the-System-cannot-process-form-Error

Thanks Savvy, I don't know if was just timing, but it posted first try when I pasted into FireFox. I did have to go back and redo my link, since that got stipped out when I pasted my response into Notepad to save it.

tdesmit-

It is the timing. You are taking too long. How long is too long, I don't know. The way I get around it is the following:

Enter your post in the normal way, just as I am doing now. Open up Microsoft word, or any other word processor, into a half screen window (don't do anything with it yet). Left mouse on the "Preview Comment" as you normally would. Now comes the solution---

1) highlight all of you post in the preview section and right mouse "copy".

2) move the mouse pointer over to the word processor (WP) blank page, right mouse and "paste" the test into the WP. Now you see your text in the WP.

3) move back (top left arrow for IE) to the original blank page for the original post.

4) highlight all the text in the WP, holding the left mouse key down "drag" it over to the original blank entry section. As you do this you will see a small arrow and square while you are in the entry box.

5) lift up the left mouse key and the text is now back in the original entry section of the CR4 but in a negative image. Right mouse over any blank space within the box and it changes back to the way you want it. You are back where you started and in only a minute or two.

6) If you want to save your entry, go back to the WP, left arrow the counter-clockwise arrow at the header and the text reappears. Save it to the location on your disk where you want it.

This may seem like a lot to do but it is short, 1-2 minutes, and solves the problem. The reason why this works is that the timer resets when you go back to the original blank entry screen. Also when you have the text in the WP, use the spell checker in it. It is much more thorough than the CR4 spell check.

Because of the time I have used up writing this I will probably have to do the short procedure to enter this comment.

Good Luck, Old Salt
