Welding Transformer Types?

What are the types of welding transformer?

1)which x mer is suitable for spot welding for the 1 mm lead wire (with tin solder coated ) with nikle cromium alloy strip of thickness of 0.1 mm to 0.5 mm2)?

2)by what methode i should adopt for welding?

MANUALLY.

Using stored energy in a condenser VARIABLE VOLTAGE(hence energy)

Using a foot switch to discharge

Either direct or through a high Current Thyristor

I have an EG&G 1000 Amp, 30,000 Volt thyritron... Just bragging.
