Use Word, Excel, or Access (if you want to get fancy).

Create a list of what, who, where, when, how, how much, etc.

Revise as necessary and update with new and complete items.

Distribute as necessary.

Keep up with document control (Rev. No.) so people know when they have the latest information.

Punch list = every time I get punched from the wife for not buying the only things on her grocery list.

Just using a simple pad of lined paper and clipboard is all you really need to denote deficiencies and items that need further attention as you walk the project site.

Of course you can transfer the data tow MS Word or Excel.

In the end: use the KISS Principle....."Keep It Simple Stupid". Trust me, it'll never fail you.
