Jaw Crusher Cavity Design

10/03/2013 4:49 AM

Hello,

I would like to manufacture a Jaw crusher .We have started our product development and there should be some confusion regarding the cavity calculation of crusher. We have considered the compression ratio of the stone as per the ASTM standard and calculated the force. But how can we decide the shape of cavity by considering single stone crushing? Let me know the usual procedure for doing the cavity design of Jaw Crusher?

Smallest dimension of cavity ≥ largest dimension of incoming rock? Unless the rocks are noticeably flat or linear, the cavity could be of nearly equal l,w,h dimensions.

Thank you for your reply. Here i would like to know the shape factors of cavity which means there will be some S or V shapes are present both jaw plate liners. This will also define the Cavity size and area of crushing. This is the exact information we required to do the calculations.

If you can give a dimensioned picture of the liner shapes, as well as the anticipated incoming pieces, that would help. Beyond that, I'm not sure if there is much need for fine calculations. You need to be big enough to handle the largest rock (except maybe a rare lunker), but not much bigger, so that you can avoid excess motion. No matter what, there will still be some guesswork.

I don't have Skype, but you can send me a CR4 private message by clicking on my username. From there, we can do normal emails with attachments. I'm not a crusher expert, though; I have just tried to convey some basic ideas.

You should go on line to a manufacturer most have designs plans with dimensions and specs you can look at. It would give you a better idea of what you may want.

I can't understand why anyone would want to build a jaw crusher from scratch unless it's a homework question.

There are many manufacturers that will supply and guarantee their product. Why reinvent the wheel?
