Standards Library

10/09/2013 11:26 AM

Greetings Fellow CR4'ers:

It's been quite a while since I have been active on these forums, and actually quite a while since I have been active at all. Well, in an industrial capacity anyway - been doing military stuff for quite a while. But, I'm back at it and am looking to rebuild my Industrial Standards Library and wanted to touch base with you all for input to make sure I don't overlook some obvious ones.

Specifically, I'm looking at compiling a Reference Set of Standards/Codes that apply to a general Industrial/Manufacturing Setting, non-industry specific that cover the design and construction of industrial machinery. The list I have so far is noted below. Please review and provided your suggestions for any that I may have overlooked. Note, just looking for top-level ones that have the broadest scope of coverage for my initial set. I'll pick up others as jobs require.

Safety

  1. OSHA 29 CFR 1910 - General Industry
  2. ANSI B11.19 - Performance Criteria for Safeguarding Machinery
  3. ANSI Z535 - Standards for Safety Signs and Colors

Electrical

  1. NFPA 70 - National Electric Code
  2. NFPA 70E - Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  3. NFPA 79 - Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery

Welding

  1. AWS D1.1 - Structural Welding (Steel)
  2. AWS D10.12 - Pipe Welding (Steel)
  3. AWS D14.4 - Machinery Joint Welding

Fluid Power

  1. NFPA T2.24.2 - Hydraulic Fluid Power Systems - Methods for preventing external leakage
  2. ISO 16431 - Hydraulic Fluid Power - System clean-up procedures and verification of cleanliness of assembled systems
  3. ISO 23309 - Hydraulic Fluid Power Systems

Design

  1. ANSI Y14 Series - Drafting Standards
  2. ISO 1219-2 - Fluid Power Systems and Components - Graphical symbols and circuit diagrams

Thanks,

JavaHead

Yesterday, I was just putting together a SOP for our company where I needed info on a length of ladder before a platform/rest station is needed.

OSHA 1910

Sorry, at first I thought it was a wish list.
