"Gravity" did a much better job than typical space movies at paying attention to the laws of physics and keeping things as realistic as possible. He makes a good point in the article that we have to be a little forgiving sometimes to allow them to make advances in the plot and pace. No real reason to go crazy over the fire extinguisher scene, or others.

I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and I think the attempt to keep it as realistic as possible contributed greatly to that. It's hard to be involved when everything is fake.

I just wish the sun was white :(

Oh and in the article, he mentions how his colleague noticed a small hole and said, "If that had hit us..." How great is the possibility of being hit by space debris during a spacewalk? When you think of how large space debris doesn't have to be to be a threat, how fast it's traveling, and how much damage it can do to a spacesuit, it's kind of scary.

Here's a good article by Phil Plait, aka "The Bad Astronomer":

http://www.slate.com/blogs/bad_astronomy/2013/10/04/ba_movie_review_gravity.htmlBasically

Basically, the same as the Forbes review.
