Need Help Finding Bolts

10/22/2013 9:37 PM

Looking for grade 8 3/4" x 16 x 2 1/2" Left handed thread bolts.

Does anyone now who has these. Have to make adjustable radius rods so need left hand can find 3/4 x 10 bolts but not 3/4 x 16 they make nuts so you would think they have bolts

Have you looked for turnbuckle hardware? A source like that might have something you can use.

Try a fastener specialist. In Canton, OH, there is Ziegler's, sometimes jokingly called the nut house.

Not really a common size. You will likely end up paying quite a bit for them, so, try your local machine shop. If I recall, if you really need Gr 8 strength, 4140 steel, heat treated after machining should give you that strength.

Check with a lawn-mower repair shop. Our tow behind mower uses 3/4-16x2 LH gr.8 bolts for mounting the blades. They may have other sizes available for blade/pulley mounting.

I once worked for Fastenal, they may not have them in stock sitting on their shelf but they can get any fastener, any pitch, any grade or have them made if needed. Like any supply house, they are driven by profit margins and gross sales. It's just not worth their time to order a few but if you say you'll order 10 and pay $5.00 each they will deliver them to your house.

A local machine shop ( jobber - not CNC production) might hook you up for less hassle.
