11/05/2013 3:03 AM

Hi friends,

Can anybody help me to find out the relation between LUX and wattage of a LED street light? My 40 watt LED light produces an average of 16 LUX .In normal case we have to use 90 -120 w Led lights are used for producing 15 lux. i am totally confusing about this .please help me to solve this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! why is it happening ? Then one more thing is the input drive current is very small compared to other ones ie,120 ma .Is it good for Circuit or is it having any problems in this regard .

Thanks in advance ,

To measure Lux, you need a lux meter. Since the output of light varies to the distance, you should measure at a standard distance for both sources and over the same surface area. You will find out that there is a relationship between lux and distance.

Your led lights may have:

1. different output intensity by led type.

2. different reflection pattern and lenses. Form and material of reflector.

3. color and color temperature may be different.
