Steel Body of Diamond Cutting Disc

Please help, from which material is made steel body, that is the base for laser welded diamond segments for making diamond cutting discs dia230mm. Is it 42CrMo4 or some similar? thanks a lot! Neven

Are you talking about the cutting disk or the polishing disk? The material is depending on the job to be done, as is the thickness.

This is most likely proprietary to each manufacturer....and differs according to the intended use of the blade....

Their graphics were really good and all was well explained.

I particularly liked the explanations of the different blade notching arrangements. Most practical.

Good find. Thanks. I will never look at a cutting disc the same way again.

A simple telephone call to the discs' manufacturer would provide this information. So stop wasting time on CR4 and pick up the phone instead.
