11/28/2013 3:20 AM

Hello To All Staff and Moderator,
I am Rhomeo Manaog, one of the community assistant of Patexia, Inc. Patexia is a global community of students, researchers, and professionals that comes together to do patent research. Right now we are looking for experts with a background in electrical engineering to help us out.
Three of our current projects deal with a TV channel Scan, Synchronizing and Display Resolution, and Transmitting Component Video. Each contest offers a prize pool for relevant prior art. In behalf of the company,we would like to ask permission to post on forums related to the above mentioned contest, post which contains links to our site if possible. Our contest are a good learning opportunity for students and for professionals we can focus on our consulting opportunities and chances to monetize their expertise. We wanted to follow the rules and we are we are not spamming the community. We really appreciate if you guide us on where to properly post or any specific forum. The above contest are are related to electrical engineering but we do not want to post without permission and to make sure we are not breaking any rules. We thank you in advance and we look forward to hear from you soon.
Best Regards,Rhomeo ManaogCommunity Assistant Patexia,Inc

I believe that you should post this in the commercial section, and be more forthcoming about the real roots of your "community", and your parent company.

From the for profit parent:

"Landon IP is recognized as the global leader in professional patent-related support. We obtain and deliver international patent information; monitor patent prosecution at major patent offices; perform professional patent searches in multiple languages; analyze patent, product, and scientific information; conduct technical and business intelligence; and translate technical, legal, and patent documents for governments, corporations, and law firms worldwide."

So, if you want to work for free doing the leg work for someone who will profit from the fruits of your labor, that's fine.

Please feel free to correct me if I have characterized your parent company incorrectly in any way.

These are my personal observations. I have no authority here on this firum, and am just a member. Admin. will make any decisions to be made here.

Good luck.

I've done patent searches, and it sucks.

I won't be doing any for the sake of a contest.

This posting is BS. Patexia is a patent-busting company. As someone who has worked hard to get 3 ideas patented, I am disgusted by this sham.

This is part of the Patexia 'Linked In' page:

Founded in 2010 ...

The company is run by a seasoned management team with more than 50 years of combined experience. They have... (a) growing revenue from $2.5 million to over $1.5 billion.

Specialties

Prior Art Search, Patent Research, Licensing Search, IP Valuation, IP Services, Science and Technology, IP Community, Social Network.

It seems that the goal of our work has been misinterpreted. To clarify, we are approached by clients to objectively investigate patents. In order to do this we present studies as research contests to our user base. By allowing experts from all over the world to provide their input we in turn provide our clients with a robust assessment of a patent's validity.
Nothing about this is illegal, in fact we have worked with major law firms and companies across the country on such projects. I understand that you would be concerned about us crowdsourced a validity analysis of one of your patents, however is the patent is valid then there would be nothing to worry about.
Patexia is an entirely unbiased assessment of the quality of IP. We post a variety of contests and offer consulting projects to technical experts like yourself and we felt that the group here could benefit from such an opportunity. Hopefully, upon further review, you will feel the same. If not we appreciate your time and we will continue our work elsewhere.
