We have upstream circuit breaker 40A
type D connected to via a long cable to primary side of 230/110V 5kVA
transformer the secondary side has fuse. Circuit breaker is type D 50A and Fuse
rating is 50A. I have been told there is no need for discrimination as there
are no other feeders with the secondary side of supply. Can anyone please
explain as my understanding is we use discrimination as the fuse/CB closest to
the fault operate quickly so that the fault does not cause upstream equipment to
trip.
Would appreciate any links /
figures.
Many thanks
