Your title/name is offensive, insensitive and arrogant.

Please request that Admin. change it to something that is not offensive.

I don't find it the least bit offensive. I say leave it as is.

I'm not religious and I still think it is offensive, arrogant and rude.

I say lose it, fast.

First you open up the generator alternator and find the megger that is allegedly in it.

Oh lord, why are you asking us?

Are you testing our faith in manufacturer's manuals?

First case where it would have been better to post anonym. I dont think this name suits you nor do I think one should pick this name in any case.

Please have it changed.

To answer part of the question: look up the manual how to open the alternator to get the megger out. Note to yourself: kick the ones backside for putting it in in the first place.

Sorry dont know how to check the megger ones its out. Google might now.

More than that; somebody's gotta turn the crank or push the button, and then read the meter.

1. Remove the 36 bolts that hold the hatch cover in place (in red).

2. Remove hatch cover (in red).

3. Check megger (not shown in picture).

4. If megger checks out, replace hatch cover and 36 bolts (in red).

For a guy that can allegedly walk on water, I am surprised you could not figure this out yourself

Now, now, you can't expect too much after 2000 years out of circulation... technology has changed a little. At least he knew where to ask for advice.

That is the third time today I got in trouble for laughing out loud! I must admit, the entertainment value frequently exceeds the quality of the question!

Re: Megger

I have a similar problem when on line. If I laugh my wife wants to know why and I have to explain it to her.

Unfortunately what I find funny on an engineering site tends to not translate well.

Personally when I want to drive her nuts I go to YouTube and find the epic fail compilation videos then watch them with headphones on while i bust a gut during her crap TV shows.

Hey at least I am finding things to laugh about.

In my experience of over 30 years in the field, I have never checked a megger in an alternator.
