Open the damper?

Where is the smoke going?

What have you tried?

What size is the opening on the stove?

Never had a pellet stove, myself.

DID YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS?

Most of these are forced ventilation....are your fans working....if you don't have forced ventilation then you rely on updraft to ventilate the burner, you should have at least 5 ft of vertical run to induce draft....

thanks I do have a draft vent, and that is what was puzzling me. I ran the flex as directed but knowing how wood burns I could tell the corn stove was needing more air because with the flu on the stove open all the way it still wouldn't get to full temp and of course I have a slow draft fire place where the dampener is front of fire box. I was thinking of sleeving the chimney with 6 inch from the top down and then run the 3 inch all the way up and out since the corn stove pipe doesn't get that hot and that would be a smaller area to heat for the drafting. I did not know that you need at least 5 ' to induce the draft now I know. I guess it back to work.
