Google has been purchasing many companies, approximately 1 per week since 2010. A couple of their recent ones have made me think about which direction they are heading in the future. How do these acquisitions line up with each other? It sounds like they are looking to build androids.
They just agreed to purchase Deepmind, an artificial intelligence startup, http://tech.firstpost.com/news-analysis/googles-acquisition-deepmind-fascination-robotics-217054.html
Just before this they purchased Nest Labs, thermostats and smoke detectors that are sensor driven and self learning, http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-01-22/google-plays-smart-defense-by-buying-nest.html
They also purchased Boston Dynamics, a robotic company, http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/google-buys-boston-dynamics-acquires-robots-play/story?id=21233076
Many of their acquisitions in the last year have been facial recognition and robotics related. I'm just wondering if this is mostly for 1 big project.
