Amateur Contribution to Exoplanet Search

02/16/2014 3:14 PM

Seeing Roger's latest blog entry reminded me of something that amateurs can contribute in astronomy research. The amount of raw data provided by the now disabled Kepler space telescope is overwhelming. To identify more exoplanets from this data they are looking for crowd-sourcing to search the vast amount of data. A description of the four year result so far is here. To contribute to the planet hunters program try here.
