More Power for Arduino Environment

02/26/2014 3:34 PM

I've used the Uno for a couple of heliostat projects and my main complaint was analog resolution limited to 10 bits....Intel has produced a board that is compatible, with 12 bit analog and many other features...getting it up and into my projects was as simple as changing a shoe! Mouser carries it for $67. Anyone who uses microcontrollers needs to check it out.

Arduino will be coming out with the TRE this spring. It is much more powerful than the UNO. Myself i use the MEGA 2560 with the Rasberry Pi with good results.

I just remembered something: The Arduino Due I have has 12 bit analog inputs. Amazon sells them for ~$43.
