In the context of breakers, Does anyone knows what a "disconnect contact finger" is and how does it works?

In withdrawable breakers, there are seconday disconnecting contacts, which are 'off-load' to enable the ACB to be withdrawn for maintenance or other purposes. On one side, there is usually a bar contact while on the other side there are spring-loaded multiple-finger contacts. Here is an example.

Here are a couple of photos to go along with the illustration you were given. Note that the spring-loaded fingers will mate with a flat bar type of bus contact. An alternative sometimes used is a tubular or cylindrical bus contact, with the finger cluster arranged in a circular configuration ("tulip").

Sorry not a very good advert for rose (tulip) contacts but it shows what they are like.
