Gland Steam Condenser Venting Condensate Too Much

We have 15 MW SKODA turbine, problem is the gland steam condenser venting condensate too much. We inspect and hydraulic test done but there is no leakage found in tubes.

Perhaps your turbine seals are passing excessive steam to the GSC ??

Were these checked/evaluated ? How many hours do you have on the existing set ?

Flow through the tubes is less. Flow through ejector is more.

Where exactly the condensate formation is observed? at the downstream of gsc blower? find the inlet temp of gsc steam to gsc condenser. Also check the trap at the gsc drain line. IS that the condensate formation taking place in running blower o/l or standby? if it is stand by then keep the drain open if provided. compare the load on the fan with history. is there any load variation? what is the level of condensate in gsc shell?

Turbine main condenser is meant to handle steam effectively and excess un-condensable gases (mainly air) would reduce the efficiency of main ejector. One major entry of air into system is through the glands of turbine. The purpose of Gland Seal is: not letting the atmospheric air into the turbine and over loading the condenser. Gland steam arrangement is to supply steam just sufficient/enough steam, not less (which leads air in) or excess (which leads to over loading the gland condenser). What is your case?

Check: glands are not supplied with excess steam by ensuring the controls are in order.

Also check the main condenser vapor side pressure/vacuum. If this pressure in not negative and high on positive (more than the design), the glands would receive huge steam flow from turbine internal, over loading gland steam condenser.

Are you saying that there are excessive amounts of water vapor coming out of the ejectors or is it liquid? Is this a case that your gland steam condenser is not fully condensing the steam coming in and therefore it is a case of a fouled water side of the condenser rather than excess steam being introduced into the gland? Venting condensate would indicate that the level in the gland steam condenser is too high and you're not removing the liquid condensate fast enough so it's spitting out the vent.Condensate in the form of vapor says you're not condensing it fast enough. You have to be a little clearer on the exact nature of the problem for anyone to resolve or give you a good answer.
