Profinet or Industrial Ethernet?

Is there any difference between Profinet and Industrial Ethernet ? Same hardware is used for both ? Same softwares ? Thank you

The only thing that might be different is that Profinet doesn't keep all the stuff that TCP/IP and Ethernet offers. For example, if you don't need TCP's connection oriented structure, why include it into the software.

If the same hardware and same software were in use, then there would be no difference.
