Saturn's Little Moon Enceladus.

04/03/2014 7:59 PM

I am officially entering my name in the book, for the first net maker to catch WHAT EVER is in that ocean under Enceladus.

I can rig it to hook up to a remote sub, a robotic anything or simply make a soft fish trap to capture whatever....size of target species will be a wild guess. Bottom line is that we try and not hurt it or kill it....heck, it might be smarter than us anyway. Ha Ha!

Now, just like my comments back in the day to the several national museum and 'geography folks'.... when they were interested in my Live Capture Giant Squid net.... whatever we take , we take with the notion of getting pictures, maybe a DNA or like sample and then we let the Chas go FREE!( In Cajun speak, CHAS is the name for a thing that has no name as yet or an object that you can not remember what it is called).

So. . . . who has a contact with NASA that can get me in the door and speaking with these folks. I got a dozen Chas nets already drawn up on the Auto CAD.

* Yea, I know by the time the mission sets off and arrives at the location I'll be long gone.....but what the heck, the legend of net maker will survive!!!!!

Great idea! I have no direct experience in trawling or other net-based capture methods - but I'm willing and a quick learner. I therefore volunteer as deckhand, troubleshooter, or whatever other post you have open on that trip.

I've done a bit of fishing too so count me in.

Will work for food.

Lets see how NASA plans to get under that ice first. Life begins in water here on Earth and I'll bet there are some interesting critters ( large or small) in that ocean. Might have to use some Nitex micron mesh if we are looking for itty bitty stuff.

So you two want to sign up for my 'OTHER' projects:

  • Catch a Giant Squid
  • Catch a 10 meter asteroid

Ha ha!

Dead Issue.

They found schools and schools of fish under the floating garbage and now they want nets to just sample what species have taken up domiciles under the garbage .

I just love this business! Never run out of things to catch!

Its kind of ironic that they (NASA) can even plan to detect life in the Enceladus while they can't even find nor detect where the downed Malaysian airliner can be found in our own local ocean!

Not so much when you consider that life permeates the ocean, so assumedly it would on Enceladus also, and trawling about anywhere should turn something up.

A single airliner is a (big) needle in a haystack of an ocean.
