Breaking into a Honda CRV

04/27/2014 10:46 AM

My neighbour who is a musician called me last evening in despair cause he left a keyboard in the trunk of his 2013 Honda CRV, had to perform in a show... and could not open the car, as (for some reason) the battery got dry. A week ago a burglar broke the only lock the car has on the driver´s door. In the dark I used a screwdriver to turn the broken lock´s cylinder, but failed to open it. Perhaps should have tried harder, but did not want to add damages to his car. Eventually he took a cab to get to the concert.... and got someone to lend him a piano. Tomorrow he will have his tar towed to Honda for getting it repaired. In the middle of nowhere, ow would you have solved this situation?

How do you climb inside if you "can't get in"?

The rear door will not unlock unless the other doors are first unlocked....any Honda CRV owner should know this....If none of the doors will unlock, I would try a slim jim...

Being a musician, I probably would have been high and drunk.

In a rage, I would have found a way to rip the trunk lid from it's hinges, retrieved my keyboard, lit the stupid car on fire, and carjacked the next person to drive by...forcing them to drive me to the concert, but also offering them a free ticket.

The next morning I wake up...brain screaming for water, eyes bleeding.

One of my band members is standing over me, and he says, "Dude, that wasn't your car. That's why the trunk wouldn't open."

Oh sh*t.

The car is nothing more than a representation of the entrapment of technology, driven by government.

Tell your friend to go find an old car, and buy it.

Soooo....the Government is at fault for the keyboard being locked in the car and the lack of a way to unlock the car?

.

....and the solution to the problem of having this stufff locked in this 2013 CRV is to go find then buy an older car?

.

.

Yea! You are SOOOOO back. I had forgotten......

Don't think for a moment that the truth you embrace is based in reality.

Yes, I'm back.

After realizing that I sucked at music, I would start a lobby in the US to legalize cocaine.

Guess who would finance my campaign?

Russia

Lets rock!

"...Don't think for a moment that the truth you embrace is based in reality...'

.

Hey, so long as I don't notice you watching, whatever voyeuristic compulsions have you focused on thinking about the recipient(s) of my embrace, it doesn't really bother me.

.

De gustibus non est disputandum.

.

Anyway, don't think for a moment that my actions are based in any way on obedience of any demands that might be written in a forum such as this.

.

.

Why would Russia be your lobbying sponsor for decriminalizing cocaine? Seems like FARC or Columbia might have more reason.

.

.

....and by "let's rock!', you must be referring to crack cocaine rocks, right?

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't change his spots.

....I think that is why a certain demographic shows a preference for whores over horse. Spot modularity is one of the advantages whores have over horse.

.

Then again, those are whores of a different color. (mulitcolored actually).

.

I should probably stop at this point, before someone accuses me of beating a dead whore. I've never really understood the logic there.... I mean, who is it hurting?

I don't like whores or horses. Both assume that I like them..and I don't.

What would happen if we overwhelmed Obama's NSA spy mission with lies?

What would happen if all of us lied?

I will rest when I see that bastard in cuffs and in prison. GITMO works.

When it comes to Obummer and his bitch, they can leave me alone or kill me.

Hmmm.

.

The project code name for the Forever (or Far-reaching) Lies program should be F.Lies....'flies'. 'Flies' as a word is incredibly versatile and adaptive. It can exhibit multiple layers of meaning with steep truth gradients.

.

Consider:

Pegasus (a fake relative of horse) flies like a giant eagle.

But, horse flies like to bite hard.

Fruit flies like a banana.

While time flies like an arrow, and when you're having fun.

.

.

Did you know that like opossums, Horses (and probably some whores) do not have the robust connection between brain halves.... the forma magnum.....and that flies in the face of intuition.

.

Think that might fly, Kramarat?

Originally I thought there was a typo in the title of this thread. I thought the OP probably meant to type 'Braking in a Honda CRV' and expected the topic to be about some quirk when using the brakes in the CRV,

.

It gave me a chuckle because 'Braking into a Honda CRV', sounds like the description of a fender bender to me.

Too bad some no-good hooligans haven't broken the windshield (and forgot or abstained from stealing ay valuables inside). I don't know about your specific location, but in my location and a number of other places, insurance is required to replace windshields with zero deductible.

.

It would be wrong to just go break the window and then claim or imply that you merely discovered it that way. Maybe if if the person were vocal enough around friends of a certain type..... empathetic enough to engage in uncelebrated philanthropy, yet with sufficiently relativistic ethics to act; smart enough to comprehend the dilemma as well as the convenient way presented for extricating the person from the dilemma, yet just dumb enough to try it; sufficiently trustworthy to be assured they will not steal from their friend, yet compromised sufficiently that they have no problem assisting in theft from an insurance company.

.

Of course it is far simpler is insurance companies are not required to pay for 100% of the windshield replacement for a car in that area.

There are relatively inexpensive "break in" kits for this.

They consist of wedges and inflatable bladders and a long, bendable rod to manipulate the lock knobs.

MY NEIGHBOUR´S PROBLEM IS SOLVED: a while ago he phoned to say he was fooling around in the garden with the car keys in his pocket. When he got close to it he hopelessly pushed the "open" button on the remote control.... and the miracle happened: an agonising blink of the rear lights surprised him indicating it was unlocked. Then he asked me for my battery charger to fuel up it up. As he is so unskilled -one would think he has two left hands- his next call will be to say the battery has exploded!

Re: Breaking into a Honda CRV

in response to the original post.

I have broken into many cars. ..only to help people who have left the keys inside.

A broken wood broom handle for instance can make a pair of great wedges to slightly pry open the upper edge of a door and prop it in place while another tool.. such as the metal handle removed from a five gallon bucket is snaked down thought the opening to grab keys or manipulate a door lock / handle.

I've used sticks, screw drivers, knives, coat hangers. pieces of broken plastic. scraps of lumber. ...Whatever is on the ground or in the alley usually works in about 60 seconds.

Put me up against a slim jim anytime.. those things suck.. imoho

..it's a blessing and a curse. Since I figured out than almost anything will open a car door I can spot person locked out of their car at a distance.. I'm compelled to lend a hand.. and I like quick puzzle

Yeah JE! We know about those Chicagoans and breaking into cars.

I grew up in a suburb outside of Chicago. Somehow, my friends and I all knew how to "get" into a locked car. We NEVER broke in - that's for criminals.
