Busbar Calculation

How to finalize the bus bar size for 30 Ka LV distribution panel.? Rated current is 250A.

Look for the answer on the net. There are thousands of sources, charts and automatic interactive sites that will do this for you.

This question is asked far too often here.

Do a search.

Do one for Ka too.

How to finalize the calculation? Just follow through to the end!

How to finalise the design? Just have an approved and certified Engineer looking over it

How to finalise the installation? Switch off all power to and from the busbar and fix the bus bar at the designated points. Make sure all looks like it should + have the certified Engineer who approved the design and calculation look over it.

Make sure it is rated 250 A.

If you are positive with 30 kA short-circuit maximum current [I think it is initial symmetrical short-circuit current- I"k] you may proceed as per IEC 60865-1 Short-circuit currents - Calculation of effects. If you are not-sure-you may calculate the short-circuit current according to IEC 60909-1.

You have to run whatever you (or whoever) have done past a qualified engineer or consultant for design approval.
