Difference between LCD & TFT

Is there is any difference between LCD & TFT?

Some specs says that the moitor or mobile diplays are LCD.... Some says TFT....

Some says it is LCD-TFT?....

lcd is liquid crystal display operating with or without backlight tft is an array of thin film transistors which produces light when the corresponding row and column are made high(logically).

So on my digital TFT screen I'm not using LCD at all?!

TFT is a technology commonly used in LCDs, there are others (older ones) such as the passive-matrix TN, STN, DSTN, but TFT is active-matrix, faster and with better viewing angles.

TFT-based LCDs are so popular that often they are just called TFTs.

OK. So I just upgraded to a 24" digital TFT LCD screen, and the viewing angle is pretty wide. How are the light emitting transistors interacting with the Liquid Crystal Display to make the image so much more bitchin'?!
