Natural gas contains 951 Btu/SCF (33580 Btu/M3) LHV and 1070 Btu/SCF (37780 Btu/M3) HHV.

Hello Guest

The BTU value of natural gas can vary considerably! Particularly if its comes from a gas plant which has stripped it. I have seen it drop below 800 BTU/SCF and as high as 1100 BTU/SCF.

Answer is very simple:

Heating Value (HV): 33580 Btu/Scm=951 Btu/Scf

Power: P=Q*ETA*HV, Btu/h

Q - Flow capacity (in your case 100 Scm/h=3531.5 Scf/h)

ETA=70-80 % (HEATING EFFICIENCY)

P=3531.5*0.8*951=2.68 MMBtuh

P=2.68 * 700 = 1,876 Btu/month

Hope, that it is satisfactory.

Regards,

Bosko Jeremic, M.Sc.Mech.
