Glowing Seas

10/04/2005 9:59 PM

Long a myth of ancient sailors the glowing seas phenomenon now joins the ranks of the Giant Squid in the tall tales proven true. A giant sea of glowing organisms was photographed from orbit. The floating mass is about the size Connecticut and they are hoping that future satellite photography will allow researchers to study them in person before they disperse.

Bermuda Triangle

Interesting article. There was a TV show kicking around cable a few months ago that blamed the Bermuda Triangle on glowing, exploding deep-sea pockets of methane gas. Fun to consider the similarities.
