High Speed Diesel

06/27/2007 5:46 AM

There is an pipeline to dispatch VGO from COT to Dispatch area (Jetty line). Once the dispatch is over, this line will be filled with HSD High Speed Diesel to avoid the congeal of VGO in that line and while the loading of VGO starts again it'll be pumped to a tank, if the loading of VGO is over HSD will be pushed back in the line. Now the problem is with the quality of this HSD. Its properties have been changed. So can anybody tell me what we can do with this HSD. The options which I know are : Reprocessing Or using any additives to improve its quality.....Is there any other option???? And also please list out the additives which can be used; Thanks in advance.

Engineer.

CRIMINAL

It may be that anyone who can help you with your problem will already know what these TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms) mean, but, bear in mind that lots of people learn a lot by reading these threads, and, making them more comprehensible will gain you a much bigger audience.

OK. COT stands for Crude Oil Tank, HSD- High Speed Diesel, VGO- Vacuum Gas Oil. Waiting for the ur Suggestions and ideas...

We old refining masters employ the Chemical Engineering principles and use a 'Maxwell's Demon'. This widely known, but never seen entity toils faithfully and at incredible speed, instantly separating such a mixture with no energy input and no errors. This creature exists only to un-mix mixtures--for we all know that mixing is a fully reversible process-don't we? REALLY SMART refinery engineers employ Maxwell's Demons instead of COT units. Once simply connects the crude pipeline to the device holding the 'MD' and out the exits comes whatever one wants--no furnace, no heat exchangers, no pump-arounds, no towers.

Can u clearly brief what u want to explain......this high speed diesel line is already having connection to the slop line which is going to Crude distillation unit....What I understood from ur explanation is that we can take this HSD through this slop line to CDU and reprocess it ....Am I correct? IF not so please explain ....how we can purify it without any source or energy????
