Is lava heavier than steel when it's in a liquid form?

Lava in liquid form can range from a flowing solid, to a foam, I have samples of both from Hawaii. Lava is rock, so look up the density for rock and you will find it to be less then steel.

Earth is iron cored = iron denser than lava, or we would be lava cored.
