Where can I view/buy pin valves?

06/28/2007 3:04 PM

I have a tank that is capable of 3000PSI. Would it be possible to outfit it with a Schrader Valve so that the output is around 80PSI? I'd like to use the higher PSI to store more air, but then use it at 80PSI ... am I stuck having to buy a reg?

Yes, your stuck buying a regulator. Once you open the schrader, your exposing the entire 3000psi, but at that pressure, that said, I'm betting you couldn't get the schrader to open.

Yeah, looks like I'm just going to get a 1st-stage scuba reg and use that ... buying custom parts is ridiculously expensive for my simple purposes.

look under compressed gas valves. There are some listings for general purposes which are in expensive.

Try a regulator for welding gases.

depending on the application you may be able to regulate just the flow[fixed orfice or needle valve] & obtain 80#

beware if there is anyway to shut off the device you are going to power, the pressure will climb to 3000#
